Laraek is the firstborn daughter of Kothar, the seventh hatchling of Martivir, matriarch of Clan Kazinsky, and Urathear, a dragoness currently in service to the Shadowbinder.
Backstory
As hatchlings, Laraek and her brothers, Lolth and Mephistopheles, were ambitious and fiercely competitive. All three hatchlings were very strong, and quite eager to make their mark on the world. When the time came for the three young guardians to leave home for their search, Clan Kazinsky wished them luck and sent them on their way. Lolth and Mephistopheles found their calling in service to the Shadowbinder. However, Laraek found herself called in a different direction. Near the edge of the Wispwillow Grove, she came across a small shrine. The shrine was a memorial to an ancient group of great warriors called the Order of the Night Rose. They had fought valiantly against their enemies before eventually all falling in defense of their home to an emperor abomination. Laraek felt an instant kinship with the past warriors, and took a keen interest in their traditions. She studied the inscriptions on the tomb and was able to glean a wealth of information from them. She also found several suits of magic-infused armor bearing the Night Rose crest, one of which she took to wearing. After learning all she could from the shrine, she set out in search of more information on the Order of the Night Rose. After a wild-goose-chase for a rare book led her to Stormscale's library in Clan Phantom, she chose to settle down there and continue her research.
Personality
Laraek is headstrong and outspoken, but like any good knight, she harbors a deep respect for her leaders and elders. She is quick to defend the honor of herself and her clanmates, and is skilled at physical combat. She comes off as a bit formal to strangers, as a result of the chivalric code she adheres to, but she is more relaxed around her clanmates.

Laraek considers it her duty to learn as much as she can about the Order of the Night Rose and keep their traditions alive. She often travels to various libraries and bookshops across the Tangled Woods and sometimes beyond in search of historical accounts of the Order. She has attempted to teach the newer hatchlings some of chivalric code, with mixed success.
