They may be an odd pair, it is clear to see they have something precious together.

Belisama has always been a shy dragon. She knows this. It’s not hard to tell. She’s quiet and content to keep no company. So why did she stop here, in this clan, where everyone knows everyone and alone time is hard to keep? Why did she make her den so near to the hatchling caves, when she could guess that they’d come running in every so often to make a mess of her workspace? Why did she venture so far out to sea with a dragon she didn’t know, losing her way? She knows the answers, sometimes. Because she likes the company, when it’s not overbearing, and it isn’t, here; boundaries are known and respected. Because she likes hatchlings and playing with them and answering their endless questions, and although the cleanup isn’t great, it’s worth the trouble. Because he was clearly injured, and she might not be a healer, but she could at least help patch him up with her thread and fabrics and he wouldn’t let her help so she followed him.

She likes it here. She doesn't have to venture out to trade for materials, because someone else will gather them when they go out, if she asks nicely. She can make costumes for the actors and dancers and entertainers in the clan, and they are always so grateful and impressed with her needlework. She can be left to her own devices, or she can go out and join in the clan’s festivities. She never feels left out, or forced to join. It’s a perfect balance. A perfect place to settle down.

She knows she shouldn’t be afraid of the water - she’s waterborne, there’s nothing that should cause her fear. But it doesn’t matter. She is afraid, and there is little she can do.
