B I O G R A P H Y

Lathander was born in a clan of far more structure and status quo than the Den of the Violet Repose. Growing up, he was under constant pressure to act according to societal standards and expectations tied to his family's class. Some dragons would kill to be in his position... but he hated it. The way he saw it, he wasn't any better or different from anyone else, and it was pointless worrying about things like the way he walked and whether or not he knew how to use a sword, when he would never see a battlefield. It was this attitude that drew him away from his home at nights, to wander about and live without his parents breathing down his neck. And this wandering is what led him to meet her... Lucelia, a pearlcatcher of a lower class than himself. The two fell into a reckless, secret love that only led to more problems than it was ever worth...

The day Lathander left, it was out of fear, not rebellion. His parents had discovered his relationship with Lucelia, just as the pair had wound up with a pair of eggs. Facing his family's wrath and the unfamiliar responsibility of fatherhood, he knew only one thing to do. And so he gathered what he could carry and ran. No goodbyes, no looking back, no hesitation. Some time later, he found himself in the territory of the Den of the Violet Repose. Here, he made his home, and took on the task of learning the healing arts. He slowly grew close to Lliira, who later became his mate. When Aldrych joined the clan, the pair took him in, and they now regard him as their own son. Around the same time, Lathander took on an apprentice, Aralynn, who is family to him as well.

However irrelevant his past seemed, Lathander found himself once again facing what he left behind when twins Calais and Chione, the two children he'd had with Lucelia, tracked him down and journeyed here. Lliira was the only other dragon in the clan who knew of Lucelia and the twins, and so this caused quite a stir, but Lathander took them in regardless, ready to be a father to them now, far too late, but still worth something.
