Biography

Beast Tamer Ranger | Monster Hunter | Idealistic
tumblr_p8qsydfQHW1vq7xr0o3_640.png

Perhaps, if Mallory was more like his kin, he'd have stayed loyal to the being that had kept his family's bloodline alive for so long. From a young age, he's felt the call of another in both his heart and mind. A goddess of dazzling light, plaguing his dreams and consuming his mind. He was so drawn to it, he chose to abandon those who had reared him up and pursue the deity that called for him. He followed his heart freely, unmoving to any opposition that he may have faced along the way. By the time it was all said and done with, he had settled in the remains of what once was a kingdom, rebuilding what had been lost.
Mallory had been a dreamer since the day he hatched, longing to be someone strong and brave and always there to help out those in need. Even now, he holds his values close to his heart, extending a hand to all before him that seek help. Too trusting, perhaps, as he always tries to believe in the best of everyone. He isn't that big of a fool, as even though he might be kind to all, his guard is always high when it comes to newcomers.

The Forsaken

During the first war against the Shade, dragons rose to kill Emperors and then Imperials. The First children of Lightweaver begged their goddess to save them, to deliver them, but the call fell on deaf ears, and she turned her blinding gaze from her children.

They were devastated. They had been left to die by their own creator. On every front, they were being killed. No one would take them, others viewing the Forsaken as enemies and things to hunt rather than as dragons. They were persecuted and hated.

Until the Shade took them in. Desperate, dying, the Forsaken went to the Shade, and the dark void welcomed them into its arms. It promised protection, life, and they willingly surrendered. The Forsaken found their family, their home. They went into hiding, quiet and unassuming. They would live and persevere.

The Forsaken are small, limber and lithe, unlike their Light-born cousins. They developed so as to be able to hide easily. In recent years, Wildclaw blood has been introduced into the line, as many Forsaken bloodlines had grown to close, and many Forsaken families had been killed off due to still being hunted.

Ancient dragons, they hold Emperor blood in their veins, but this only seems to strengthen their Shade alliance. Most children possess some level of Shade magic, some more so than others. Even a few Forsaken are known to make new deals with the Shade.

This family is one of warriors, of monster slayers. Having grown up in a guild in Earth, they are fierce, strong and stubborn like the land they live in.

primal eyes would be the dream oh gosh
many were skeptical about letting him into the clan. interestingly it was Nim, not Simon, who laid down the law and ordered his admittance. she saw Simon in him, someone who was affected by forces beyond their control, yet pushed through and defied them. allowing one as connected to the shade as him in clan borders has been a controversial decision, yet Mallory has shown himself a valuable asset to have, working often on border patrols and dealing with corrupted creatures in surrounding areas. if he could have his way he'd be scouting farther out, and soon he may be granted that ability - once he can assuage some nerves over his presence
carries at all times a bow and arrows and a staff - he can channel and form shade magics with these tools and is very effective in battle with them - usually an ambush hunter but can hold his own in regular combat as well
(are we gonna make the glasses canon or not?) glasses there mainly cause they look nice. just going to call them reading glasses for now
