Valjeta

Valjeta is a generally friendly dragon if not a bit snobbish at times. Often, particularly when he was younger, he would look down on other species, especially Tundras. For his weight, Valjeta is incredibly slender and graceful. He can be vain at times but for one who preens as he does, Valjeta is very down to earth.

He took notice of Pimennys, a Tundra with horrible memory and almost no sense of smell, initially with great pity and concern for her condition. But he soon grew to instead admire her for her incessant kindness and lack of any sort of bitterness. He is constantly amazed by how her lack of recognition of anything around her doesn't lead to fear or anger but instead constant joy and wonder. He still feels the need to protect her from those who would do her harm because she is very childish in her naivety and far too trusting for one who has nearly no life experience. In an effort to get her to remember him, Valjeta gave her a necklace of roses and took to carrying a rose with him everywhere. Pimennys soon began carrying a rose as well and over time would occasionally recognize him.

Eventually, she began declaring him her mate during the times she recognized him, much to his joy. Their one clutch of eggs was very hard on Valjeta. He loved the hatchlings dearly and it broke his heart when they left to serve the Tidelord. He doesn't think he could go through that again, especially since his dear Mennys doesn't even remember them.
