The idea for my lair: Naivara will keep the basic idea of her original lore, with her being the monster of the keep (will have to change the keep name). After finally being banished to a small vessel she was brought to the Dragon Carin. There she is released so Valeria and Sabriel can heal her broken mind and hopefully, one day send her off in peace. Until that time, she protects the cairn by being an absolute jerk. She is coming to tolerate the necromancers and the ghost-hunting team. An idea has formed... Instead of Naivara intentionally harming anyone and bringing on the punishment, she will have accidentally stumbled upon the person that did attack and destroyed a group of monk scholars. That individual took their sacred items and fled. Naivara, being the good drake that she was, rushed in to see if any of the monks survived. She was caught over them. Though, instead of listening to her story, the officials accused her of the crime. She was cursed to protect a sacred library. Unable to leave, unable to speak to anyone aside from the rare visitor (or intruder) to the library, it slowly weakened her mind. She spent countless decades watching over the library until the day a thief came to take some of the tomes. A fight ensued and being as Naivara was never a fighter she was easily overpowered. All those years dedicated to protecting the library, when she was needed most she failed. She was left to bleed out on the cold stones while the thief made off with almost all of the precious tomes in the library. The clan that punished her was not satisfied to allow her to simply fade away. They could not allow her to finally have the peace she deserved. Instead, they contained her soul to the library as punishment for failing. There her restless soul wandered, confused, lost, and very much broken, for decades. In the time she wandered the halls of the library, the original clan that cursed her had gone separate ways and the books had all turned to dust. The building had crumbled around her, everything was gone and yet she stayed. It would be Ravyn that would find her and contain her. The goal had been to release her to the other side, but she would not (could not) go through. Not until she resolved all of the wrongs committed against her during her life. |
