Oneiroi the Dreamcatcher

Dreams of the Traitor

Oneiroi was summoned by Amanita to the Clan of Singing Blood. Oneiroi found the traitor Volamina, and she courted him, drawn in my his strange powers and potent bloodline. She hoped that through him she could continue to pursue freeing Eyebite and its 'peers'. He remained Volamina's mate until the arrival of Villain resulted in her discovery by the Clan.

Vola's adoptive father knew that something was still influencing her, and preventing her from being able to move on from her pursuits for the Shade. He sought help from the mages in the clan, and they determined that something had hold of her dreams. The alchemist created a sleeping drought that would allow her to confront Oneiroi on equal footing - without her being subject to his power within her dreams.

Vola fought with, and cast Oneiroi out of her dreams. That act showed to her father and others in the clan that she was not beyond redemption. Her treachery could not be forgiven or overlooked, but she was given another chance in the clan.

Now that Oneiroi's presence had been revealed, efforts were made to drive away the strange interloper. Volamina was not the only dragon whose dreams he had plagued and influenced. He could bring nightmares or inspiration, rest or insomnia, and did so according to his own whims.

Villain and Otreus hunted him, for they knew he had to be somewhere in the Scarwind Keep. He took to taunting them in their dreams, which he could induce regardless of them being asleep or awake. He might have been a true terror, but beyond his dream-manipulations never seemed to do a great deal of harm. Indeed, after he was driven out, a few of the clan suffered from more restlessness than they had when he was around, or found their nighttime muse had fallen silent.

He fled after the two dragons who had hunted him was finally successful. He slipped away as if he himself had been no more than a dream, offering no resistance, but unable to be captured.

None in the clan knew what his motivations had been. Not even Volamina, really. When she was finally free of his influence and tried to reflect upon it, she realized he never truly implied to favor the Eyebite or the Shade or any of her pursuits. Perhaps Amanita knew, but she does not share her insights.

But he is gone from that clan now and moved on to new things and different dreams.

A Brief Overview of the Naomi Incident

The Naomi Incident refers to an occurrence in January of 2016. A glitch occurred that caused the standard site couriers to be replaced by Naomi, a single fae dragon within an inactive lair. (At the time, all AH goods were delivered via the message system by a set of NPC dragons.) This affected all messages normally sent by these NPC across the site.

So, she started popping up all over. When investigated by clicking on her name it would direct you to her page where her ID was #0. The user's lair had a dragon count far exceeding any number of dragons possible, even though she was the only dragon visible in her lair. Most believed that the number was of exalted dragons and her account had become a data drop for exalted dragons.

She gained a cult following and is considered by some players a part of the lore of FR and the setting. Adding to this was also the fact she was an arcane dragon, and the arcane flight is known for dealing in strange magics and often throw caution to the wind in their pursuit of knowledge which strengthened the idea of a corrupted arcane dragon glitching out the website.

She had several children, which were all exalted, save one: Willow. It is through Willow that Naomi's bloodline is available to the general player base. The owner of Willow is extremely protective of them, and as of writing, no longer breeds them.

For most Naomi's descendants are a symbol and part of wanting to keep the story alive, as well as having a dragon related to the fae dragon who caused so much chaos. Some might seek them out for lore reasons, or as a collector's oddity.
