Margot

Heir to the Diamond Crown of Evenglade manor, and daughter to noble Cecil, Margot prefers the simple occupation of a librarian compared to the bright spotlight her mother stands in. She has seen what the fame and responsibility did to her mother—how she gave up her identity, her image of her father, and precious time with her daughter—in order to rule, and Margot wants none of it. If she never has to take the crown, she'll be happy.

In the meantime, she's allowed to work in the vast studies and libraries of Evenglade, keeping them organized and ready to use for visitors and nobles alike. She sees little of her busy mother, and they can spend weeks in opposite sides of the manor, never speaking a word to each other.

To visitors, Margot is a polite and helpful librarian, but she keeps her personal troubles—and her royal identity—to herself.
