It is said that on a dark, dreary night many seasons ago, when the heavens shined at their brightest against the pitch black curtain of the universe, one of the stars ripped itself from aether and fell to the earth. No one knows why or even how the star did this, but there it was, careening through the atmosphere and blinding the world with a flash of pure energy before, suddenly, fizzling, it's essence lost in thick forest. Curious about this astronomical phenomenon, the local dragons braved the woods to search for the remnants of this strange event. But, when they discovered the location of the impact, what they found was not a star... but a Coatl cub. While this may sound like the beginnings of a fairy tale, the dragons of Dawn's Dusk will assure you that the tale is true, and will happily point any curious travelers in the direction of this "fallen star," for the Coatl found abandoned in the woods all those seasons ago is none other than the clan's very own mage: Kamenwati.

Exuberant, suave, and mischievous, Kamenwati probably best encapsulates the choatic and unpredictable nature of the arcane arts, which makes it fitting that he's the clan's chief advisor to all things magical and mystical. As a mage of war, he is best known for the raw amount of power and enthusiasm with which he unleashes his attacks, and it's become a bit of a joke within the clan that, so long as Kamenwati is involved, even the most minor of magical demonstrations will invariably lead to major collateral damage. However, while his magical mishaps may seems humorous in hindsight, there was once a time when his powers were a very real threat to the clan.

Although his violet eyes betray his birth to the realm of the Arcanist, as a cub he was found outside the lair during a meteor shower, his small body wracked with strange runes and peculiar crystals. No one knew how or why he had appeared in the woods that night, but after searching for the young Coatl's parents proved a vain effort, he was taken in by the clan's herbalist and healer, Cerasi and Kanzan. Unfortunately, neither were prepared for the challenges that would arise from raising the mysterious orphan. It soon became clear that, somehow, the hatchling was a living conduit for arcane energies, sucking up any and all mana in the environment and using it to create anomalous warps in reality. After nearly causing irreparable damage to the lair in a particularly violent episode, a decision was made on behalf of the clan, and Kamenwati's new parents were given an ultimatum: restrain the fledgling's unpredictable powers, or cast him out to be dealt with by another clan. It was only through the strict training of his adopted father that he was able to finally control the powerful but unstable magicks he unwittingly possessed, although his father's stern approach to the young dragon's teachings made it so they quarreled often, and over the years Kamenwati grew to be rebellious and dismissive.
