Biography

Neo, the queen of the dark fairies. Random Progen <3

Neo and her boyfriend, Caelou were ready to head off.

"Hunny, it's time to go, lets get a move on before the sunset!"

"Coming, dear."

Neo remembered why she married him, so loving and caring, and never having a temper. She remembered when they had gotten married, on the aisle, decorated with flowers of all kinds, in a pretty field on a clear day...

"Dear, we need to go now" Caelou softly nudged Neo.

Neo grabbed her bags and rushed off, but not after giving Caelou a warm hug.

"What would I do without you!"

"I honestly have no idea."

Both chuckled, and then began walking off. They continued on for some time, taking various breaks about every 10 minuets until Caelou asked a simple question.

"I'm thirsty dear, can you pass me a water?"

"Absolutely!"

Neo reached into her bag, made a strange squeaking noise, and reached into the other four pockets one at a time.

"Uhh, dear... I can't seem to find the water."

"Are you sure? Check the other bag just in case."

Neo did as Caelou asked, but nothing.

"Caelou, we need to go back!"

"We can't, we are too far here, the sun will set soon, we will have to bear it. We need to make it to the tangled wood, where we will sleep. It isn't safe to be here in the night time, you know what creatures lurk here..."

"Cae, I know, but we can't live without water, and obviously can't drink this salty water."

Neo crouched by the sea and began swirling her finger around in the water, clearly stressed. Caelou sat next to her and put his arm around her shoulder.

"I'm sure we will make it. But to be sure, we can't take any more breaks. Be sure to rest up tonight, dear, this may be our last chance to rest until we reach the glade."

"I'm worried Cae."

"Just think about our new lives once we reach the glade, no more traveling miles for drinkable water, having to catch our own fish every meal, wearing the same dirty, salty clothes every day, not having a place to sleep the night but where the beasts lurk..."

"I know it will be wonderful... but I don't want us to get mauled by piranhas, so we better get going."

And off they set again, picking up the pace, racing the sun. Neo slipped into a daze, and became almost a robot, going through the motions of walking with no thought and no expression. A ringing noise developed in Neo's ears. But slowly, the scenery began to change. The sea turned into a murky lake, and the sand to thick mud and grass. Eventually mushrooms began to appear, lighting the way to walk, and soon tall trees and vines. By this point it was night, and both Caelou and Neo were tired.

"Just a little bit more to go before we make it to the Foxfire Bramble, where the thick thorns will protect us."

"I trust you Cae, but I am very tired now... I need to rest soon."

"I will carry you if I have to, don't worry."

"I love you Cae."

"I love you too."

The trudged on. Neo had to give her bags to Caelou to carry, she was nearly about to fanit, But just as she felt she could not go on much longer...

"GAH!!!"

A spiral dragon appeared out of the distant murk and fog. He had a top hat on with a red stripe, and a suit and coat tails. He was holding a deck of cards in his hand and had a unusually large amount of fog surrounding him.

"Oh my gosh you nearly caused me a heart attack..."

"Hello?"

"You look new... I don't think I've ever seen you before."

He paused for a second and looked closely at them, seemed to be staring. Neo began to feel uncomfortable.

"YES! The eyes give it all away. Take a look at those bright blue marbles! Mmmmmm yep!"

"Uh, sir if you need to say something, please say it, but we have places to be, and we are very tired."

"Tired? Dear me."

The spiral pulled out a watch from his pocket. He studied it for a moment and put it back in his pocket, with a frown on his face.

"I'm very sorry foreign visitors. I'll let you sleep, but don't be shocked if you see me again later."

The dragon drifted back into the deep fog, and didn't look back.

"Huh."

"What was that all about?"

"I don't know. Let's just get some rest."

Caelou looked around the area a few minutes, and found a nice spot under some tall brambles. Caelou first threw the bags into the spot, and then crawled in.

"Dear, I hate to say this but..."

"But what?" Neo was not happy, cranky about being tired. She scowled and folded her arms.

"There's not enough room for the two of us."

Neo sighed, and made a face, not afraid to show she was mad.

"Then take the bags out!"

"I'm sorry, I'll take them out..."

Caelou threw the bags outside. They made a thump noise at Neo's feet. She took them and found another place for them, under different brambles. Neo crawled into the nest with Caelou and they fell asleep quickly. But their night didn't end there...

They both woke up in the middle of the night to a whistling noise. The wind was howling. Neo and Caelou snuggled closer together. They heard a faint noise of laughter. The noise kept getting louder as if whatever it was was coming closer. Then, loud footsteps followed by more laughter... and a strange ripping noise.

All of the sudden they could see the moon clear as day, and it confused them. The laughing noise was now loud and clear.

They saw a shape about two feet away from them. It was loopy and kept moving and twisting around, almost like the brambles they were sleeping near had come alive and were sentient beings...

"AHA!!"

Both Neo and Caelou screamed in fright, a piercing scream that echoed for some time.

"Hello again foreign visitors."

Neo and Caelou sighed in relief, realizing it was only the spiral from earlier. As he came closer, they could make out the same top hat and suit, and the same deck of cards.

"I'm sorry I, well, surprised you," the dragon snickered. "I just wanted to forewarn you about this area, because malicious beasts live here that wouldn't think twice about mauling you, once they sniffed you out, that is."

"Well, I'm certainly glad you warned me, but there was no need to scare us earlier."

"Oh, well I'm so sorry I bothered you!" The spiral said, sarcastically. "I'll be on my way then, was going to offer you a ride, but if you are going to act ungrateful, I'm not going to waste my precious time on you. Good luck with the wolf spirits."

The dragon smiled, showing pointy teeth and blood red gums, and flew off quickly into the night. Neo and Caelou sat there, thinking.

"Was that supposed to be a joke?"

"Dear, I hope the answer is yes. However, we can't let our lives rest in the hands of chance. We must be off."

"Cae, I used all my strength being scared back there... do we really have to go?"

"Absolutely, you don't want to die, do you?"

"What a silly question. No."

"Then let's go, I'll carry the bags so it will be easier for you."

"Thank you so much, love."

"You're welcome."

They set off. The trip was very excruciating, and they both were using all their strength to simply put one foot in front of the other, and tripped in the brambles countless times, with countless wounds. Caelou nearly lost an eye to a unusually sharp bramble. They continued on in silence for many hours, yearning for a drink of water. They began hearing wolves. The howls became more and more sharp and clear as time passed, and Neo once thought she saw a green wolf spirit rush in front of her, and Neo a grey wolf at his feet. Yet, they trudged on.

The brambles became mud soon, cold mud that dried quickly and was very hard, almost like a cast. It made their legs feel numb, as if they were walking with dead limbs. The mud soon had shoots of grass here and there, gradually becoming less sparse. As this happened, trees and vines began to appear, and the moon started to set and the sun rise. Less wolf noises were heard, and those that were, were very faint.

"Are you sure the wolves were actually real?"

"I have no idea honestly."

"Seems like a dirty trick to get us out of their land."

"It does. But we have no proof. Let's just keep going. I can tell we are very close! Look at those beautiful trees in the distance, and the streams of cool water!"

"Oh yes! I am so excited, Cae! Finally we can begin our new life!"

Neo threw her arms around Caelou's neck, and kissed him.

"I love you Cae."

"I love you too Neo."

They kept on, and soon the sun was fully up, the mud was gone, and they could see more than three steps ahead of them. A stream made a calm rippling bubbling noise to the left of them, and beautiful flowers and trees grew all around them, with the most beautiful butterflies they had ever seen fluttering around them.

They sat down near the stream and began to wash off the mud. For some reason, it hurt to rub the mud off, but the didn't question and thought their legs were only chaffed. But soon, blood began washing down the stream with the mud, and Caelou and Neo got worried. They rubbed off the last chunks of mud, and noticed part of their legs was missing.

"WHAT THE HELL?"

"HELP!"

They realized that they had been attacked by the wolves, but didn't feel the pain because they were so tired and numb from the mud... or the wolves were painless killers. They prayed it was the first reason, because they did not want to die in their sleep. Neo's and Caelou's legs started to have feeling again. The pain was almost unbearable. They had been mauled by wolves without knowing it.

"H-how."

"This is the craziest... I mean honestly..."

"We better go find a medic."

The again set off on their journey to find a medic. They wished they couldn't feel pain, and started to think they wouldn't make it. Every step and every throb of their legs felt like someone stabbing into them with a very sharp sword, then squirting lemon juice into the gash.

"Help us... please," Neo could only whisper.

"S-save your energy."

Neo had to leave his belongings on the ground because they became too heavy. He used their clothing as bandages, and tied up their legs tightly so blood would not flow to them. Flies were beginning to infest their gashes, and soon burrowing and tunneling throughout their bodies. The smell became rotten after some days, but at least blood stopped squirting out of their legs. Both felt faint and were very pale.

Neo collapsed on the ground. She whispered "Go on... without me. Come back if you can."

Caelou shed a tear over her half-dead body. He nodded and kept on.

As Neo lay there, thinking, she remembered all the fun times she had with Caelou, and how much she loved him. All the times they had walked on the beach and collected seashells together, little crabs, sometimes even jellyfish. She fell into the deepest sleep she had ever known. Nothing moved. Everything was black. She could still think and she somehow knew she was asleep. She could somehow tell the sun was setting, and she felt the hours pass, but they seemed to pass in mere minuets. She heard Caelou's footsteps, and him mumble something about trying to wake her up. She gathered all her strength together, and somehow woke up. She had controlled her sleep. Wow, she thought. Never thought I could do that before...

"Neo, my dear! Finally you woke! I found a medic, and he gave me this potion. We should both take it, it will heal us. I have waited hours for you to wake..."

He seemed to be using all his strength to say those words. She saw a spoon with a clear liquid come close to her mouth, and felt an arm prop her up to drink. The spoon and arm were shaking. She swallowed the liquid. It tasted awful, but she had no strength left to make a face of any sort. Caelou took the liquid too, then as if that was the last he could do, collapsed into sleep. Neo barely saw him go before she was asleep as well. [MORE HERE LATER]
