The day I was born into this world was magnificent. The sky clear, the waters calm, the breeze nice and warm. My essence floated aimlessly along the waves as they softly crashed into a tide pool on the rocky shores, fusing itself into the sand at the bottom. I remember stretching out a claw from beneath those waters. My first moment of life given to me by the sea. My scales forming from the shells, molding themselves into my form. It was clear from the beginning. I had a purpose. I was to create a clan within this place near the sea. A new home for those who sought it out. My charge was to protect this home. So there I stayed, slowly carving out a cavern within the walls of the nearby cliff side. Close enough to where the boon of the sea would be easily accessible, but far enough to remain safe from any dangers that could lurk below the shallows. Soon others would join me here. We would decorate our cavern walls with shells and stones we'd find around the beaches. Our bellies were never hungry, the sea gave us plenty of food. Life was, and still is very good in our home in the cliff.
