"Why did I have to be so stubborn? Now what am I supposed to do. No place to go, no people to rely on... Who cares if they think differently of creatures, I should have kept my mouth shut and stayed, at least then I would have still had a roof over my head." A brown and blue coatl mumbled as he kicked a rock that had laid in front of him.
"And of course I had to run my mouth and tell them I'd find a clan that would think the same as me, how foolish..." A quiet hiss made him stop in his tracks. In front of him was what looked like a moving rock, but the young dragon knew better.
"A tunnel hydra" he whispered, trying to stay out of the large serpent's view. Three pairs of brown eyes fixated on the terrified dragon and before Inkwell could dodge, a large, scaled tail hit his side and sent him flying headfirst into a rock, disorienting him. Inkwell groaned and shook his head slightly, trying to ease the ringing in his ears, before looking up at the snake-like creature in front of him.
"I mean you no harm!" he said loudly, raising his head to stare into the creature's eyes. Shaky legs carried the coatl closer to his attacker, but the pain fogged his vision and Inkwell soon tripped, losing consciousness before reaching the dangerous being.

When he came to again he was met with light brown scales around him. The ringing in his ears had gone away, but the sounds around him seemed muted, almost as though they came from several miles away. As he looked up he was once again met with the intimidating eyes of the serpent that had attacked him, but now they lacked the anger and hatred they had held before.
"Thank you." Inkwell said, bowing his head slightly to show his appreciation. The hydra nudged the top of the coatl's head with its muzzle and motioned towards the entrance of a cave in an almost questioning manner.
"Do you want me to leave?" Inkwell asked, to which the hydra slowly shook one of its heads and moved it closer to him once more.
"You are free to follow me, but I can't stay here. You wouldn't know about a clan around here, would you?" he said, chuckling lightly. The hydra shook its head once more, eyeing the coatl curiously as he got up and limped towards the entrance of the cave. He groaned as he stopped at the opening, sitting down to catch his breath. "You know what, I think I'll stay for a while. Would that be alright with you, hydra?" he said, looking over his shoulder at the large creature, which shook its three heads excitedly.
