- - - Monari was born on a battleground - his mettle tested every day, relentlessly, against siblings and other whelps of the clan. Being born first of his clutch in a proud Earth lair gave him a title - but his actions peeled it away.

"I can give you power," It said, purple eyes glowing ominously beneath a black hood. "I can give you power, but it comes at a price."

The pain was unbearable; like lava pouring onto his scales, the venom was melting them off and rebuilding them in kind. The potion had weakened him significantly, as the dealer had promised, but it was considered a success. The magical power and raw strength bubbled in his veins. He fell into a deep coma.

"This clan is mine now," the scruffy, dirt-colored Imperial snapped, eyes dull and lifeless. He dropped a bloody paw onto the Mirror skulls at his feet, crushing them to shards and dust. "This clan is mine now, and there will be some changes."
