Almarea steadies herself, writing is one thing, public speaking quite another, but she has faith in her poetry, based on cryptic engravings and spotty evidence, along with an uncomfortably close encounter with shade remnants.

At first, she hadn't a clue why she'd been sent for, not being the overly adventuresome sort, but then her own readings in archaic and occasionally cryptic, long-forgotten legends kicked in and she could swear she saw it...the briefest glimpse. That's when the shade remnant had nearly gotten her.

Anyway, she was told she could present her notes however she wished, and she has a fondness for poetry, even that with dark tidings. Either way, scary as it might be, she cannot resist sharing her findings, ones that suggest the existence of a true, black unicorn, one with a horn valued over any other, and the terrible power that lies in their long-forgotten fates.

Nothing betrays her nervous state, appearing calm as she begins.

What Gallops in the Dark

Truly forgotten, yet they live on
Spirits twisting and snaking in thick darkness
The shade creeps on, gathering itself
Piece by piece
And they gallop through its nightmare fog
The dwarves of their kind are no example
Only black when fading,
Horns a worthless spike
They hold none of the power
They never did
Not of a true, black unicorn
Those elegant spires,
So long forgotten,
Suck light right out of the sky
And banish existence
It is an awful magic
Once an ingredient, oh yes.
Hunted and craved.
With but one stolen horn
You could smite your enemy from existence
Driven to near-extinction
Desperate
Defiant
They rose up, so long ago
Using their own power
The power of nothing
Destruction
As a driving force
Gathering every wronged and angry soul
United
Oh yes. They existed.
The shade itself is driven by their void
And powered by the fallen.

"She is so pretty I don't know where to begin. The accent and the outfit are just so good. How are you able to get all these amazing dragons!?"

"And Almarea just hits something REAL nice in the aesthetic department? She kind of looks touched by the shade, and I love her lore too. It gives her a surprisingly nuanced character in contrast with her appearance and I'd gladly read her poetry okay."

"Another yellow and dark purple dragon? I love it, the apparel is so beautifully detailed, but not overwhelming!"
