Cartographer
Scout for Hire

Growing up in the Reedcleft Ascent meant learning how to get around. Basil was born into a large clan of cartographers, but in order to sell charts to other clans, one had to brave the aggressive wind currents that sheltered the other lairs built into the reeds.

The Fae was accustomed to finding himself utterly lost in another part of the Windswept Plateau, but a cool determination and a powerful desire to find his way home taught Basil to find his way around.

When he matured into an adult, Basil considered himself an adequate explorer of his home. His maps were poorly drawn, hardly intelligible really, but the Fae always thought his memory was more reliable than any piece of paper.

Sometimes, when out for a flight, the wind currents felt more like a familiar dance partner, a twisting yet recognizable pattern of roads that would lead Basil to his destination.

He had to leave, of course. The Plateau was a fun little mystery to solve, but once the maps were charted, once the currents were identified and categorized, the familiarity left Basil itching for new winds to chase.

Bark Paper

Basil has been traveling across Sorneith from territory to territory, mapping each new terrain with a fresh sense of wonder. He'll settle down for a while in each territory, to get to know the locals, gain their trust, take in the scenery, and become privy to the uncharted marvels every territory holds.

While visiting the Da'Renan village in the Sunbeam Ruins, Basil met Bea.
Bea is an excellent listener. For some reason, it feels like they're old friends.
Bea joined Basil's travels without a word, but Basil doesn't mind the company.
A courier and a navigator are an excellent traveling pair.
Besides, Bea brought the ducks.
