Biography
Chronicle was born in the Viridian Labyrinth. She grew up fascinated by everyone's stories and especially their secrets. Why borrow an item that could break tomorrow, she thought, when you could borrow someone's knowledge?
She set out from her clan as soon as she could, before she was even done growing, and set about looking for old dragons, dragons travelling to the Gladekeeper, dragons from foreign lands, or simply dragons that looked out-of-place. Chronicle recorded their stories, and tried to glean their secrets - or, when she could, get them tired or tipsy or in a mood to tell her what they really thought.
It was all great fun. She had even decided to set out from the Labyrinth and see these mysterious other lands for herself, when she stumbled across a half-drowned Pearlcatcher in the wreckage washed up by a storm. Or should that be Woodcatcher, ha ha, since his pearl was nowhere to be seen, and he was just clinging to a piece of driftwood like it was actually worth something.
Either way, she dragged him back up to her cave and let him tell her what happened. This was fascinating! The first real social outcast she'd ever met!
She agreed to wade out in the ocean and look for his pearl. When she came back to shore she said - no luck, it's nowhere out there. He had been convinced that his dishonor was permanent since he got his first lungful of salt water falling after his pearl, so he didn't press too hard.
A couple of months later, Chronicle and the newly rechristened Spicelord set off for Dragonhome, looking for tales and trades. They've traveled together ever since.
