on songbird keep’s overall moral compass, haruhi definitely ranks towards the more dubious end of it. she’s not a cruel dragon, by any imaginable metric; truly heinous things such as murder are still far too dark for the nocturne’s conscious. she does lie, however- often, but at the very least remarkably well. her capable silver tongue has the ability to weave its way into just about any dragon’s good graces. haruhi excels at nailing down just what she can say or do to get in someone’s favor, and accordingly maintains a complex web of dragons who each owe her favors here and there. whether it’s flattery or a coy flash of her dazzling blue wings, manipulation is a prominent talent of her’s. as a merchant, it’s easy to imagine the benefits such a quality might bring to her line of work. many enter haruhi’s shop for a quick peek, and later find themselves leaving with much more in their claws- and fewer coins in their pockets- than initially anticipated. when not attempting to swindle someone out of their treasure, however, (although when can anyone really say for certain) haruhi is characterized by her biting sense of humor. a rocky life has made her fairly unflappable, so her sarcasm is often in wry reaction to things other dragons might become far more worked up over. the nocturne is much like a rebellious older sister within the clan: certainly laid-back, fun to be around, and notably “cool,” but probably not the best role-model for behavior. letting her be around possum or coreopsis, the resident trickster heralds of the keep (or, earthshaker forbid, both of them) is near always a recipe for disaster. the combined chaos of their personalities spells out pranks and petty swindles all day long. haruhi lives in songbird keep more or less for the convenience of the arrangement; or, at least, that’s what she insists. she switches between spending nights at her shop and at the keep, and as a result, isn’t quite as linked to the musical heart of the keep as others who reside there permanently. but, she wouldn’t turn down a good tune, either. when pushed to do so, her voice is actually rather beautiful, and her good sense of musical timing gives her no trouble carrying a song- but getting her to show such a vulnerability is nigh impossible. on the rare occasion she does, however, it reveals something about haruhi that she’d much rather stay hidden; the nocturne does have a certain soft spot for the keep and it’s antics, regardless of how frequently she insists otherwise. it’s an open secret that the blasé shopkeeper lives within the clan for reasons far more complex than just its “convenient proximity to the marketplace,” as haruhi so stubbornly describes it. |

╭━━━━━━━━━╮ notes: - an absolute romantic disaster. shes a master manipulator but asking her to interact smoothly with anyone she finds pretty is unthinkable - a lot stronger than she seems! she’s had to deck one or two dragons who think breaking into her shop is easy money. could probably beat you in an arm wrestle - also can take on a matchmaker role similar to miriam, but less for the love of her friends and more because she’s extremely entertained by chaos - 1 of 5 dragons/1 of 3 non-exalted dragons with her color combo - ╰━━━━━━━━━╯ ☼
