━━━━━━━ about ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You'll see her painting on the corner. There will be a smile on her place, pressed firmly as though stenciled in clay. Her work is all color, the shapes exaggerated. Nary a smidge of darkness; the faintest shadows. Her style changes inexplicably from one piece to the next. The soft little bird on her shoulder twitters, twitters, twitters, all joy and no sorrow. She's filling a void. | ___ |

━━━━━━━ origin ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
She lived and learned in the desert, studying art amidst the sand and selling forged pieces in a lawless land. She made her coin and kept to herself, always looking, always leeching the emotions and thoughts of others, using them in her work. Then he came, filled a void she didn't know she had. Taught her to think her own thoughts. Taught her to live and laugh and learn. They were wanderers, meeting inexplicably at the best of times. They married in the middle of a storm and made tracks for Thunder Hollow. They built a house with their own two claws and spent months making a garden. Side by side, they worked, he on his sculptures, she on her paintings. As a skydancer, he was an empath. As a nocturne, she was a mimic. They shared their emotions totally, living in a state of unity. On their third anniversary they had a nest. Two little eggs, happy and healthy. Until they weren't. The smaller one grew dull. It withered and died after a week. The larger one sparked intermittently, never able to achieve a healthy normal. When it hatched, the youngling was sick. He, desperate, found and sought out distant help. He pushed himself too hard to save his ailing child. He died delivering her into the arms of those who would give her aid. All Junara got of it was a letter. The child still lives, but Junara can't bring herself to go and see them. |

━━━━━━━ now ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Junara is hollow. Not that anyone notices. Outside, she is all smiles. Her joy seems genuine because it was, once, and the bright things she paints are reminiscent enough of her old style that few question them. It takes an experienced dragon to spot the discrepancies, the little lifts of the curtain. She steals the emotions of others, mimicking them because it's what feels natural. Her familiar, the happiest bird in the world, it seems, lends her a constant, cheerful aura. She talks into oblivion because it's how she was. She will keep this ruse until she can no longer take it - or until the point of death, whichever comes first. |
