Cain

Cain is the first born son of Gadreel and his deceased wife, Eden. He is also the twin of Abel.

When he was younger, Cain held a lot of resentment towards his father for bowing down to a Guardian such as Ezekiel. He loathed even more the way his younger brother wouldn't stand up for himself whenever Cain bullied him. The angrier he got, the more he took out his frustration on Abel, and the more he hated him for not fighting back. He saw such behavior as weak, and he didn't approve of weakness. However, as he matured, he began to realize why he put such importance on strength. It was because he himself was weak. Not in physical prowess but in character. A lot of what he saw in his relationships with his family was what he'd made up, slights his own mind had conjured to trick him into believing he wasn't the problem or at fault for not being liked. Add his revelation to Abel finally growing a backbone and Cain began to sing a different tune. It took time and effort, but Cain figured out how to change himself for the better. He now regrets his former behavior, he cringes at how forgiving his father and brother are, but he admires their willingness to put up with someone who was once so monstrous in his attitude.

To help calm his nerves, Cain works two jobs within the kingdom. Most of the time, he's the gardener. He's planted many fruits and vegetables to help sustain the growing population of Magen Rishon. Digging into the dirt, watering green leaves, pulling weeds. The work is blissfully mind-numbing, but he also gets that thrill of excitement when bountiful crops reward his hard work and effort. On his days off from tending his plants, he volunteers as a mercenary. Granted, he never offers his services to anyone not of the kingdom, but he gladly uses his sword to wipe out pesky monsters from nearby areas that might be hassling the caravans or Magen Rishon's beast clan allies.
