Akuji
"dead and awake"


He was found by a cloaked female mirror while exploring the edges of The Scarred Wasteland. She took the hatchling and brought him to her room. Hid him from everyone. Akuji never had others to play with. Only the dragon he called "Mama". Mama never spoke, never made a sound, but a smile crossed her features everytime she was called that. And that's what mattered.

The cloaked dragon grew attached to the youngling. A single tear sliped from her eye as she pressed a pendant to Akuji's chest and cut his throat, outside, under the light of two full moons.

"Almawt" unknowingly to anyone else had found scrolls probably as old as Sornieth itself. Written in ancient symbols that took long, sleepless nights and days to decifer. A full moon cycle passed and once again both moons shone bright above her head. She bandaged the younglings neck and started whispering in a tone so ancient that the lands around her had almost forgotten it. Symbols drawn in blood covered the ground, and Akuji lay in the center of them.

The cloaked mirror took out the pendant with Akuji's soul from the bowl of her blood and put the deep red pendant on the dead spiral's neck. Her whispers blended with the shadows, the wind and the quiet sway of trees. She cut her wrist and drew the last symbol on the ground, said the last words and looked hopefully at Akuji. 		msrsQ67.png

Akuji stirred, as air suddenly filled his lungs. He opened his eyes, to the dark light of the moons. The trees of Wispwillow Grove were above and around him. He looked around and saw a hooded figure. Akuji rushed in to her arms "Mama!" his shout was muffled by the giuse he pressed his face in.

"Akuji," the older mirror whispered, speaking to another dragon for the first time since her brother died as tears rolled freely down her face.

They later noticed that Akuji's eyes had changed. Narah guessed that was caused by rebirth.
