Terrato

Terrato was born a bit angry because of his coloring. He always had to defend himself from other dragons who teased him and called him a girl. His father had more muted tones of pink, and was not as eyebleeding-ly bright. His father still was made fun of when he was young. Freesia turned to the little Coatl and told him to stop acting like such a wimpy little girl.

Terrato was determined to show his dad he wasn't wimpy. He worked every day on looking manlier, but it was all to no avail. He hated his coloring, and everyone made fun of him every day. Finally Terrato had enough of being made fun of by everyone and snapped. He had heard rumors of something called Arcane magic being able to influence reality. He delved deep into the darkest corners of Arcane magic, learning spells which should have been forgotten. He cast his first spell on a Coatl who made fun of him one day, irreversibly changing the young dragon by changing him into an eyeburner. At the use of his first spell, an Irradiated Astronomer suddenly popped up from nowhere and came to rest on his shoulders, bonding with him to become his familair. And thus, Terrato was labeled as a user of dark magic and shunned from the community.

Terrato was ashamed of his folly, and cast the book he had learned from aside. However, this did not change his knowledge of the spells. Each time he looked over his shoulder, the Irradiated Astronomer stared, its unfathomable gaze reminded him of everything he had learned, and all he had done. So he had no choice but to leave his old life behind. To prevent what had happened to him previously from happening again, Terrato used his magic to hide his body with a skin.

He finally stopped running when he ran into Draconequis clan, all the way in Arcane territory. Here he was safe from anyone who would recognize him and he could protect himself from prying eyes. He was readily accepted into Draconequis clan without any hesitation. They didn't know of his coloring and he was prepared to keep it that way.

However, he soon met Isis, an Arcane-infused beauty, and his carefully organized disguise shattered when the two of them instantly became soulbound. He waited for the ridicule to start, but none came, instead he was congradulated and the other dragons went on their way. Tempest was the only one to speak to him, she said something about him losing his skin an improvement. Dragons in Draconequis clan had no reason to fear being persecuted.. because they were all escaping from something and no judgements were to be made in this clan.

Terrato shed his false skin not long after this and lived his life normally. Isis convinced him to be proud of his coloring, and that he was more Arcane than even her. Only Isis and Tempest know of his knowledge of dark Arcane magic, and his unwillingness to use the poisonous magic.

Made fun of all my life, i turned to the darkness.. and it hurt.. because i was wrong.. but now i will turn another leaf and begin my life a new, because i am safe in the arms of Arcane.
