hailing from a large clan gave qiren no voice for herself. she often spent her days with the clan's familiars and camping in the woods nearby. as she grew older, she began yearning for a new life, as most hatchlings do. however, her dream wasn't to find a new clan and have a large, happy-go-lucky family, but to find a smaller clan and become their animal fighter. she loved the creatures of soreinth and wished to work with them.

when she heard of the wasted lands that the emperor left behind in her own flight, she felt sadness and pity for the poor, poor beasts that were affected by the tragedy. qiren finally made up her mind and set out to find these so-called "wastelands." the journey, which should have only taken a month at the most, took a total of five months. qiren polished her beast taming skills along the way, channeling her natural-born magic into her voice, permanently changing how she speaks. she is now considered soft-spoken, yet her words contain a certain authority that makes the animals listen to her.

though her words are few, her confidence is plentiful. she convinced redi to allow her to stay with her, though redi had been very hesitant. so far, she's been able to help keep their territory clear of wild beasts, as well as to help fight off unwanted visitors.

redi soon left without a word, and over the course of a few days, qiren quietly moved into the leader position. no one had to say anything, but now they look to her for advice and to run the clan. she doesn't mind the change, but her
