Virlu grew up alone, abandoned by her parents shortly after hatching. She was taken in by a few traveling dragons, who raised her as they moved through lightning territory. Her memories of her childhood are shaken, barely remembering what her adoptive family looked like. But she got her happy-go-lucky and caring personality from them, and for that she will always be thankful.

Virlu left her family to pursue a merchant life- traveling to different parts of sorenieth to spread her wares. It was a good life, and once she said her final goodbye to nature, she moved onto light. Her most notable clan that she ended up staying with for a while was Sanctuary of the Gods, a nearly all pearlcatcher clan. She never understood their logic or history, but she thought of them as her favorite clan to trade with. She even started to pine for one of them, the one who called herself Artemis.

Years (and years) later, she returned with the intent to trade with the Sanctuary once again, but they were gone. In their place were two skydancers, who welcomed her with weapons ready. They explained that the site was abandoned when they had arrived, and that there were no traces of other dragons living there. Virlu was devastated, but decided to stay with the skydancers for little reason other than to wait for the Gods to come back.

They never did. Virlu was crushed, and her new clanmates were helpful and understanding to her grief. She was ready to move on. One faithful night, Virlu woke up hours from dawn with a silvery pearlcatcher curled against her back. It couldn't have been Ezyl, as she had her own den. It took seconds for her to realize who it was.

Artemis, by some forces unknown, came back during the night. Virlu was ecstatic. Over the next few days, she bugged Artemis relentlessly to tell her how she came back, what happened to the others, why'd you guys leave? Artemis knew all of the answers to her questions, but refused to answer. Virlu gave up. She was just happy that she had her love back, and was content to live within Cliffside as their merchant.
