Biography

╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮
Glyn
╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯
"...what better way to live, than to win."
Heart pounding with the joy of childish laughter and chase, the little fae hunted leaves and bugs like the other hatchlings. It only took a moment, one accident, to change everything. Whippets of fire wrapped around the youngling, the child marked by a raw flame. His touch burned, wild and untamed, eating away even at his own fledgling scales.

What do you seek?

I wonder why.

Who calls to you?

To be known and loved, you must be yourself. Darkest of desires included.

Rumor holds that in the sandswept delta a small band of mercenaries stumbled upon an egg of flame. With pity for an abandoned hatchling they took the child, intent to raise it as their own. But once the littlest of fae hatched, the dragons soon realized the curse they had brought upon their clan.

The child of fire had unnaturally strong magic, a simple touch burned like dragon's breath. For a pip of a hatchling, a nasty curse. He could not be touched, his fans sunk low and heavy with his frustration and grief. Such a tiny body was not capable of hosting that magic. Knowing this, the adopted parents scrambled to find a magic dealer capable of transforming their child to a dragon whose might could carry his power. With luck, they managed to find one. The ceremony was flawed, but a transformation was completed. Glyn was no longer the small fae who burned from the inside, but a wildclaw of fire who struck fear into the hearts of many.

He became a guardian of the pack he was raised by, until tragedy struck the little band during the harsh season. With no clan to guard, he set off for answers about his magic, and how to better control it.

It was cold, he noted. The night sky flickered with dancing stars, the moonlight just barely enough to cast shadows. The young wildclaw whose form flickered through the sands was no more welcome than any other creature.

He had magic, at least. A deep, primal thing that burned under his claws. If he focused, the sand underneath his feet would solidify into sheets of glass, perfectly preserved footprints. But he was tired. He'd been marching for days. There was nothing for him where he'd come from, and he knew the sands only stretched so far.

He just hoped he was strong enough to make it past the unforgiving dunes.

Days passed like that. Glyn took short naps in the sun, dousing his scales in sand and dirt to try to keep away the harsh rays. He traveled at night when the dunes were cooler and the moon lit his path. When he'd started it was new, now nearly full.

It had been a long time.

Tonight was different, though. He'd begun to see evidence that he was near the edge of the dunes, strange structures and creatures now settling into his peripheral view. They weren't unfriendly, just...curious. Distant. Watching.

He watched them back.

Until a pearlcatcher bugled a greeting, and invited him in. They promised a home, and he promised protection.

It was a start.
