--biography--
Keith's earliest memories are a cacophony of images, each slightly clearer than the last but no more informative about his hatchlinghood. Traded by his clan at three days old in exchange for illegal potions and smuggled familiars, he spent his formative years serving a clandestine group of religious fanatics in an unknown area of Sornieth. He served in various ways for the group by cooking, cleaning, and running errands all over their compound. Most of the dragons were indifferent to him, making sure that he was healthy and well-fed but showing no affection or emotion towards him, like he was simply a tool they used to carry out their business. But a few knew to keep Keith compliant, they had to keep him in fear, until one day Keith couldn't take his tormentors anymore [link to Keith's Escape]. Although his escape was successful, Keith woke up in a prison in the Southern Icefield, where he spent the next several years serving time for his actions. An infectious outbreak in the prison left him with growths on his wings, seriously inhibiting his ability to fly. After his release, he answered an advertisement for a position as a guard in Mist Meadow[link], where he could hopefully earn enough to try various treatments for his wings.

Keith showed an aptitude for leadership from the start and soon rose to lead the Mist Meadow Thornguard[link] and become the Councillor of Defense[link]. His ability to read others and infer from their actions proved to be a great asset for the clan, despite his lack of desire to interact and warm up to others. He rarely trusts another dragon beyond himself and frequently spends time preparing for imaginary disasters, just in case. He takes his job seriously and rarely fraternizes with other dragons, although he will spend time with Borque on occasion and frequents Mystic's potion shop[new name/link] to find relief for his wings. Shyrza confuses and annoys him to no end, which he blames on her youth and desire to prove her worth to father figures. His den is almost always cluttered with potion bottles, incense, herbs, and musty books that he has borrowed from the clan library[link] but is otherwise bare of much personalization. Keith spends most of his time on duty, drilling with other guard members or the Coliseum team, or studying old tomes on mechanics, history, science, and more, always on the lookout for something that could better prepare him for the unpredictability of the future. |
