Inside a stranger, she shall hide...

She was the faunijauvi's dream: a young, affirmation-starved orphan with a rare talent for shapeshifting. She made the perfect spy. It is no wonder that they invested so much in her, were so sure to contain her just like all of their deadly dolls. Sending the nation's youth to die was all right so long as it was in the name of freedom and democracy and protection, right?

But protection of whom?
Anethra always walked in two different worlds. Her reflection was enough to remind her, the thick bars falling beneath both of her eyes... it was such a damning display of her mixed heritage. She was partially the "enemy" and every alleyway in Fosor was sure to remind her of that, even growing up. She had already reclaimed one name for herself (Anethra stems from the faunijan pejorative anethera literally translating to "child of purple" but meaning an ophan or loner, in reference to the hue's relative scarcity in nature). Hell, she even went out of her way to dye her feathers that color. But being called a peregrine because of her facial markings? It still made her cringe.

But the irony of a shapeshifter is that she can't keep it up, she always will revert back. That, or she will become a demon. There's no middle ground.
She would always be running.

Ekrin's scary ~~girlfriend~~ best friend SORT OF. She's real brutal and always is obsessively trying to improve her abilities at the expense of many other opportunities in life. Whenever she does relax from all that, Anethra likes to make maps and dabble in calligraphy as well as visit her friends such as Ekrin and Litora. She enjoys boybands, pirates, and surprisingly spicy popsicles. She doesn't want anyone to know about that first one, though
