The rain had continued for three years. Kinich Ahau abandoned our clan, they all said, and Kukulkan was angry.
But Kukulkan’s anger hadn’t came yet. They realized that after the rain turned to a rainstorm lasting for days. They could not bear it any more. They could not suffer any more. Why we must suffer? They cried out and no longer prayed to any god. They begged the shaman instead. Do something, they bellowed. Let the bane suffer for us. The bane, the bane — the KID born on Kan, the bad day standing for the arbitrary cruelty of nature and bringing pain. She was born after the rain but remembered no one. Someone except themselves must suffer for the clan. There she was, on the top of the hill near the clan. Into the sunken pit they had chucked many things and beings. You are never so close to the gods, they laughed to the new sacrifice, more cruelly than the rain. She begged, she cried, as much as she ever can. They sang, they danced, the went back to their “cleaned” clan. But the anger of the mother nature hadn’t came yet. The flood crashed in next day. The clan was cleaned away, and those disciples, those sins. The bane, the sacrifice, she was still alive. She struggled in the hole among soaked corpses. She was rotten by the rain and plague. But she was still alive. She shouldn’t die. She belonged to the gods who had fed by others in the clan and forgot about her. Or abandoned. But no, someone didn’t. An oracle came into her mind. Do you have enough courage? To change, to revenge? A life for a life. Kill yourself, and welcome your rebirth. And swear allegiance to the death. I HAVE. When I opened my eyes, I saw the apostle and king of death. Welcome to your clan.
