jet is an acomplished historian with a special talent for reconstructing destroyed primary sources. he recently took on an apprentice, reiwa, and passed some of his duties on to her. she is now responsible for clan census records.

CLAN HISTORY

Founding

Chioni and Unda grew up together on the Zephyr Steppes, drifting in and out of everyone's lives but each others'. they fell in love as slow as a feather falling to the ground, and by the time they had finally made it official, it was time for them to leave home and seek their differing paths in life. they parted ways, Chioni to the [high place] to study to become a Healer of the Rose, and Unda to the [forest] to train as a Blueclaw Warrior. they agreed that once they had learned all they could learn, they would join together once again and start a clan of their own.

years passed, and their paths once again converged. it was not long after this that they met Mayfly. a collector of art, knowledge, and any number of other things, it was her who took their plans and made them a reality.

it was during this time that Chioni and Unda once again fell in love. Mayfly happily reciprocated, and with their blossoming love, so too did the clan blossom.

Mayfly: i made a lot of friends in my travels, particularly in the flight of the Arcanist. a lot of them joined the clan with me.

Mayfly: i don't consider myself a founder. Chioni and Unda are the ones who really founded the clan. that isn't to downplay my role in this clan's formation, but it is true that i joined after it was conceptualized. as such, i am not a founder.

Mayfly: Chioni is very indecisive, and Unda is very non-materialistic. i am not an inventor, i am a collector. an organizer, an archivist, a question-answerer, a jack-of-all-trades, master of none, better than master of one, but the fact remains that i cannot come up with ideas from whole cloth. i must first be handed a pattern. Chioni and Unda gave me that pattern. I laid out the pieces, supplied the fabric, and together we cut and sewed it into place. but i did not write the pattern; ergo, i am not a founder. do you understand me?

Chioni: Mayfly's the real founder of the clan. they're the one who turned it from a tiny patch of hunting-gathering grounds and a burrow into a home for all our members.

Chioni: i'm quite indecisive. Unda doesn't really know how to make a home, she tends to focus more on the metaphysical. she once said it didn't matter if we had a proper lair, so long as she was by my side. it was very sweet. it was also very unhelpful. and Mayfly, well, they came along and they filled in that gap for us.

First Era

as hatchlings were born and more dragons joined, our clan quickly grew in size. while some dragons were only passing through, many stayed, and as a modest number of familiars joined their ranks, they quickly began to outgrow their home. our clan soon migrated to the Reedcliff Ascent, where they dug out an expansive burrow to house their growing numbers. it is around this time that i arrive.

our clan's history continues somewhat mundanely from here, welcoming new members and saying our goodbyes to those who are ready to migrate to a new home. our clan leaders fight off minor threats, amass treasure, and cultivate a beautiful garden of herbs, flowers and fruit trees on the plateau of our pillar. all is well, for a time.

Reemergence & Return

following, so to speak, the events which pulled our clan out of time and space, we found ourselves returning in a most mysterious manner. arriving to find ourselves in an underground necropolis, we wandered for some small time before we happened upon an expedition party from the flight of plague. they were quite as surprised as we were, and welcomed us readily into their group.

our travels with their party were quite an adventure, haunting and exciting, as we found ourselves persued by ghosts and spied upon by mysterious lichens. we were quite delighted to hear that a party of our own flight was similarly with us in the depths, and when our two groups met once again at the strange obelisk, we joyfully reunited with many old friends.

during the exporation and subsequent harrowing escape from the castle, several children of plague in whom we had found some friendship decided to join our clan and followed us through the portal as we left. following our exit, we led our many new members home to see what had become of our lair.

Harpy's Roost

[in their absence, the clan's lair had been overtaken by harpies. unda would have been happy to scare them off and reclaim it, but chioni insisted upon a diplomatic approach. time had softened the animosity of the harpies some, and with kaunox to vouch for them (and admittedly a lot of bribery), the clan was able to move back in, with their relationship with their avian neighbors on the mend.]
