Medli is about the same age as Dawn, making her one of the "elders" of the Wildclaw pack. She and Dawn are very close friends and relate to each other on many levels... When Dawn lost her long-time mate, Medli was the only other Wildclaw who had gone through something similar. (However, Medli's Makar left after talking things over and coming to a bittersweet agreement with his pack. Unfortunately, Dawn's Mamba disappeared without a trace.) Medli was the one who was able to console Dawn and keep the pack unified while its hierarchy shifted.

As such, she is a trusted deputy among the Wildclaws. She is experienced in egg-rearing, doing perimeter checks, and keeping her extended family in line. In the rest of the Lupine clan, she's not entirely well known.
