Biography

A QUEEN'S EYES

Wanderer

URTEAU is a rare dragon touched by the Queen Creosote: rather than meet its power in death, Urteau drew it to herself in life, fusing the relentless regenerative power of the Queen Creosote to her natural elemental magic.

The result is a dragon in constant flux: always growing, decaying, regrowing, and sloughing off again, over and over. Urteau's life is one of death and rebirth in her own skin, leaving her caught between feeling altogether too old for this world and as wide-eyed and curious as the day she was hatched.

She doesn't always remember who she was before the Queen Creosote found her. At times, she lives as less a dragon and more as an avatar for the curious, implacable Queen Herself. Being so affixed to what many call the very essence of the Wasteland, Urteau has little concern for wandering alone through the untamed wilderness, returning to civilisation only infrequently, when curiosity or memory gets the better of her.

Travelers on the Road consider meeting her a sign of good fortune and untroubled travels. To those who are lost, she's usually quick to set them back on their desired path, often even sparing a meal with them before sending them on their way. No one is ever curious enough to ask her where or from what she gets her food; it's probably better that they don't.

IMPRESSIONS
The air around her is thick with petrichor, even with the promise of rain very far away indeed. She has a curious gentleness to her movements, a sense of unhurriedness which makes most travelers in her company feel oddly at ease. Her eyes are red as garnet and deep as the oldest maw-pit in the Crinoline: to hold her gaze for too long is to feel inexorably known.
