Skyrunner

Clan Scholar.

When Neige and Scrum found the old abandoned lair and founded the clan, they had no idea that the cave they had decided to inhabit, already had a resident; Skyrunner.
She was hiding in the utmost corner of the lair, and when she started hearing voices and digging from the main chamber, she came out to defend herself, thinking it was a patrol from her old clan, looking for her. She was surprised to find a young Guardian couple attempting to settle, and they seemed just as surprised to see another dragon. The female Guardian was very polite and explained their situation, and Skyrunner allowed them to stay, and she agreed to help them start up their new life. "Allowed" is so much said; Skyrunner knew she'd be safer with some bigger dragonbreeds around.

The truth was, she had fled from her old clan. It was overpopulated and very fixated on running like a smooth machine instead of the individual talents of each dragon. Her parents were always out nesting, and everyone were always so secretive because they were Shadow. She always loved books and reading, but had been put on insect duty from the moment she reached adulthood. She was paired off with a very dominant Imperial male, and when he didn't want her anymore, she was thrown at another Skydancer called Skyblazer. Neither of them were happy, but at least they had eachother. When Skyblazer told her that he had decided to escape from the clan and join the army of the Stormcatcher, she was crushed. He encouraged her to leave as well, if not with him, then at least to go get a better life on her own. He saw her potential to be more than just another cog in the flight. In fear of being mated off to another dragon like her first mate, she took his advice; in the dark of night she snuck out, clutching a pack filled with books and food. She flew for weeks - she didn't know if she was being followed, but she wasn't gonna stop to find out. Eventually she settled in the abandoned lair in which she still lives.

When she met the young Guardian couple, she was already suspicious of the male. She noticed some of the same behavior as her first mate had displayed. Her suspicions turned out to be correct, but being the tiny Skydancer she is, she didn't know what to do about it herself, other than supporting Neige in her endeavors to regain control of the clan. They now train in the Coliseum together, to make sure that if anyone tries to come into their clan with that attitude, they can promptly show them the door.

Skyrunner now has all the time in the world to study and read, and being the oldest dragon of the flight, Skyrunner teaches the hatchlings about everything there is to know about being a dragon. She seems fairly stuck up and cold when first encountered, but if you have questions about anything, she can hardly stop herself from talking when she has begun. She has gained so much confidence in herself, and is generally respected. She is Neige's councilor, and they have a good bond.
Skyrunner has since tried to reach out to her siblings and offspring who are living in other clans, but hasn't had much luck. It seems that everyone have tried to put their old lives behind them.

Her primary mate is Topaz, a Spiral who arrived not long after the Guardian couple. He was her first student, but proved quite a challenge with his short attention span. When he finally grew up, she thought to herself, that if she could teach a Spiral, she could teach anyone.
Some time went by, and at some point he started making more eyecontact. Skyrunner was very confused and flustered; she was not used to be the subject of anyone's affection without being forced. She had always thought of him as a beautiful dragon, but she'd never considered this scenario plausible. It didn't take long until they were both head over heels for each other, and everyone in the clan were happy for them.

Skyrunner likes books, reading and learning, and dislikes having decisions made for her.
She is nearsighted. Her favorite student she's ever had was Cindy the Pearlcatcher.
