Biography
Cedric
Outlaw Prince
Outlaw Prince
|
Heir to the frigid Pagos kingdom, Cedric has spent his entire life weighed down by the pressures of being a prince. His father, the king, trained him extensively in politics, economics, history, etiquette, and the art of war so that he may someday rule as king. During these years Cedric weathered the storm of rumours, scandals and attempts on his life with as much grace as was expected of him, but behind closed doors he fell apart. The Pagos kingdom was not just frigid in climate. Close relationships were viewed as weakness, and marriages of love were almost unheard of. Even familial bonds were kept at arms length. Cedric's only source of comfort and support came from his personal bodyguard, Stamos. For his own safety, Stamos never left his side. Stamos had not been raised in the kingdom, and refused to abide by their isolationist mentality. He and Cedric grew very close over the years, sharing everything with each other. Cedric found himself falling in love with his guard, but he knew that it would cause the greatest scandal the kingdom had ever seen if it came to light, so he kept quiet. Then the rebels came. A group of his father's political rivals had planned a rebellion, growing their armies in secret. They planted rumours of a citizen revolution to distract the king from the real threat and struck when his back was turned. Everyone in the castle was killed, from the king down to the lowliest servant, and the castle was burned to the ground. Cedric and Stamos were the only survivors, and barely escaped with their lives. They fled for weeks, but no one was following them; it was believed they died in the blaze. During their flight, Cedric confessed his feelings to Stamos, believing it was the end. After they were well away from the danger, Cedric attempted to play his confession off as a result of fear and stress, but Stamos knew him better than that. Stamos loved him as well, after all. |
