- Nioko was only an egg when he was lost to the ocean in a crash landing, but gentle underwater waves drifted him to the shore of a small island in the middle of the ocean. There he grew, and discovered that the island itself is a living being. For many years, he became a fisherman and fed the island's underwater maw with massive whales and giant squids, while mapping the ways "Starsailor" moved and drifted. One night, he found an Undertide had crash landed on the shore of a now bigger island; that Undertide eventually grew a bond with him and became his future Wife. Together, they built a clan of castaway dragons on the massive Island, and became what was the original Lantern Clan.
- One day, a parasite was found growing within the island, but it was too late when they discovered it. The damage was already done, the island was dying, and so were the dragons living on it. Just before the ocean's waters could touch their feet, Clan messenger Redrin unleashed a shock wave of Arcane Energy that sent the surviving clan members flying towards the highest landmass (Hoverview Vale). Recovering from the impact, the clan members chose to rebuild their clan within the starwood forests, where the New Lantern Clan lives.
