Biography
The blood-siphoning archer (just felt the sudden urge to revive my progen)
There's millions of ways of torturing someone. There's usually no doubt that torture is worse than death.
But you haven't died.
I have.
I've felt the indescribable feeling of my soul leaving me body, the blessed gift of life and choice and mortal being and belonging torn from me as a punishment for sin.
I went into a world where I was aware of nothing other than the fact that I was no longer me, and I was in eternity now.
Nothing to do, nothing to see.
Nothing to think about.
Death was a tight black cage with nothing.
Nothing at all.
No doubt most people resign themselves to impossibility and their eternity.
But I screamed.
I shouted and thrashed though I had no body to move and no lungs or air or voice.
Someone heard me.
I was aware now of two things: that there is nothing, and there is someone talking to me.
An offer was given for me to live again.
Even if I was just a zombie.
Or immortal husk of myself.
The tormented will do anything for a chance to have their endless burning quenched.
So I came back to the living world.
I was a demon. My old handsome green eyes were blood-stained and demonic. I could not take in any air, I noticed as I stood still and absolutely did not move.
I had no god-blessed soul.
But I was alive.
