Biography
"What's that? My mechanojets are on backwards? Nonsense, they're supposed to fit that way! And hey, even if I wind up splattered against the wall, that's like, an extra ten pages in my biography!"
No one really knows what Intern’s real name is. From the first day Spinel bellowed at him, every dragon knew him as simply “The Intern” and little more. But much to the boss’ fury, the wildclaw adopted the moniker for himself instead of letting the humiliation drag him down. He quickly proved himself to be one of the best interns in the entire lab, so much so that he didn’t even need to apply for his full-time position – Spinel personally demanded (requested) his full-time presence.
As cunning as a wildclaw could be, Intern gambled perfectly. Unless the arrogant boss would continue to call him Intern, he declared, he would decline the offer. There was no way that Spinel could bring himself to utter such a blood-boiling name, and thus no way he would be hired back into the lab.
Intern is currently the head R&D and test engineer for SpinelLabs. He is courageous and bold to some, and idiotic and empty-headed to others, but there is little denying that he has made numerous technological achievements since his stay at the labs. Through hundreds, if not thousands of live tests and experiments, he has carved a name out for himself within the Wildspire Wasteland as a crackpot engineer.
He is also singlehandedly responsible for the company’s insurance premiums increase of no less than 500%. In pure technicality, Intern should not be alive from the sheer frequency with which he damages himself. Whether he shatters his wingbones, snaps his femur, or breaks his neck, the medical acumen of the doctor personally assigned to him has brought him back into the lab for… more live testing.
His reckless, wild energy brings him in constant conflict with Spinel. Though both are brilliant engineers with storied achievements, the lack of tact or calculus in his methodology frustrates the tundra; and likewise, the “dumb, super-dumb lameness” of Spinel’s talents quickly forged a rivalry between the two dragons.
However, some more observant coworkers would describe the animosity between Intern and Spinel as… a one-sided relationship, for it is more than obvious how the wildclaw is left breathless and red-faced even after an intense debate. He is quick to describe his symptoms as a matter of anger, but he denies his infatuation as adamantly as he longs for Spinel. Only time would tell what treacherous, cunning plants Intern will hatch to win Spinel’s approval – and his heart.
