biography.
once an ordinary spiral who became obsessed with the endless expanse of space far above where any dragon had ventured. they wove a tapestry from light and fallen angel feathers to carry them to the heavens, whereupon they glimpsed a light unlike one they had ever seen before.

enthralled by its otherworldly glow, altair disappeared for an incomprehensible amount of time with nary a word (not that they had relatives or friends to inform anyhow).

years, perhaps eons, later, altair returned. to whom they did not know, nor why. though there were none left to even remember their name, their face had been warped by the infinite abyss, and the tapestry of light that had borne them to that unspeakable place now fused to the spiral's body.

now they are barely distinguishable from imperceptible space and the light of a star, and only seem to reflect a dragon in shape.
