Izanagi and his mate, Izanami, are in charge of anything related to death and exaltation within the clan. Any dragon that is to be exalted will be accompanied by Izanagi or Izanami. They also decide what is to be done with any dragon in the clan who has died. Some are to be buried right away, some are to be examined before burial and some are used for other, more sinister purposes.

Izanagi doesn't speak much and when he does it's usually in short, concise sentences or words. He and Izanami can sometimes be seen having long conversations in hushed whispers, though, but as for what they're speaking about... only they know.

Izanagi is definitely someone who tends to prefer the company of the dead over that of the living, so his role within the clan is very fitting.
