Cloudsong

Cloudsong hatched the day the wind stood still, the day every wind dragons heart and soul sank to a place of fear and sadness.
The nest was meant to hatch many days earlier which concerned the one of the resident hatchery supervisors ADD NAME who made sure to dutifully care for each nest and egg correctly. This wasn't her fault, right? It's wasn't but that did not stop her worry for the babies.

It may have been fate, coincidence or maybe Windsinger himself but while the winds died down she came into a world no one expected.

Over the next month Song learned to fly in the still air, this was normal for her she knew no different. She danced and played like the other dragons wished they could. Even so as a wind dragon she knew something was... missing, she was lonely flying by herself. The young spiral was too quick and the courier slow.

Most of her clans dragons refused to fly, those who tried fell or struggled so they eventually stopped trying. The joy of flying had lost it's meaning to them even those born in other clans were used to the winds, knowing them to be there since they were hatchlings no longer remembering a time in their birth lairs.

One day she was sitting out on a balloon basket watching the strange interactions of the Spiral and the courier when the winds started to pick up throwing her off her basket. The wind carrying her and beating against her wings felt right. A few minutes after the winds came back she flew to every dragons she could find to exclaim her excitement, dragging them outside. She has so many new friends to fly and dance with!

Many of her lair had already come outside after the noise of the tornado returned but dear Flick the deaf wildclaw was missing the fun. He could not hear the winds, the singing, the music. Everything that made a dragon of the wind clans and wind dragon. His world was silent. Being an empath she could sense her continued sadness while the other dragons had alleviated. She used her abilities in a way maybe no one had used them before she shared her feelings, emotions and heightened senses with her.

Her eyes lit up. For the first time she could hear their world and all the joy that came with it and it brought her to tears. They stayed like this for what felt like hours but could not have been more than a few minutes and when they finally looked up they saw the other dragons of their lair standing around them.

It takes a while for new dragons to get names here, the founder herself making sure each one is perfect and fitting. Cloudsong seemed the only choice after her ability to show the feeling and atmosphere of our home so accurately to someone who could not know them.
