RECOVERING RESCUE

Suffering from paranoia, malnutrition, post-traumatic stress disorder, insomnia, depression and anxiety.

Name is from the genus name of the lilac flowering species, Syringa. Due to her violet coloring, she represents spirituality. Overall the Celtics regarded the lilac as “magical” due to their incredibly intoxicating fragrance. Since lilacs have one of the earliest bloom times, they symbolize spring and renewal.

Syringa is the child of Rache, the Queen of the Plague cult known as The Vengeful and the Queen's personal servant / entertainer, Fearin. Her world was violent, chaotic, full of the screams of dragons and the steaming heat and scent of the Plaguelands. The eerie laughter and hypnotic voice of her mother still buzz in her ears. With time, she could heal, but it will take a patient and calm dragon to do so.

She is the first dragon to successfully escape and survive the world she was born into. Her siblings were killed while trying to flee soon after hatching. Sadly due to this Syringa does not know how to socialize with other dragons let alone approach them. Syringa was told that she was nothing but a sacrifice for the Plaguebringer, and she would have no worth until she meets the mighty and terrible goddess.

Her existence was one of constant fear, and she is always looking over her shoulder, afraid to fall asleep at night even though she now lives in the lush, quiet and calm Viridian Labyrinth. With no mother to protect her and a father powerless to help her, her only hope was to escape. Having any chance of freedom, Syringa would absolutely take it and she was successful.

Will that make Rache proud? Or will Syringa come to hate the world she came from, and possibly hate herself? Will she inherit her father's ability to dance?

. . . . . .

Even though Syringa is a Plague dragon by birth, she is under the protection of the Gladekeeper and silently accepts her plentiful and loving embrace. Her story is still unfolding and updates will be posted once she gains the confidence and bravery to whisper it to me.
