Fluorine formed a special bond with Sodium because she was the culmination of her life's work, the last hatchling she ever planned to have. It helped that she was the only Spiral out of a five-egg nest, too. Their powerful bond was one of the reasons she stayed at home, rather than going off to serve the Arcanist. The other reason is that she wants to find and catalog every flower in the universe.

Her friends and family call her "Sodie." She loves basking in the sunshine, exploring, searching for new specimens, and just having fun outdoors. She also loves to make arrangements of both cut and living flowers, which her clanmates commission from her as special gifts to their loved ones.

Sodium and Lisa share a birthday, although Lisa didn't come to the clan until she had reached adulthood, but they also share a sunny disposition and a love of creating beautiful things. They sometimes collaborate on art installations. Sodium has taken a liking to Yuu, and they are supporting each other in building a tea shop and a florist's shop right next door to each other.
