Biography
I've loved, I've laughed and cried I've had my fill my share of losing And now, as tears subside I find it all so amusing To think I did all that And may I say - not in a shy way Oh no, oh no, not me I did it my way |
A stoic and serious dragon who can be found fighting mercilessly in Sorneith's arenas. She seldom speaks, and is never seen without her mask and armor, though for some reason she's seems to be a fan favorite amongst coliseum goers. Originally taken in by a colony of Miths after they found her and her village burned to the ground, Braun was raised to value every aspect of life. As she grew older and started to feel the pull to search for her charge, she denied her instincts and stayed to help defend her family. But, when one day she wakes to find the pull within her unbearably strong, she can't help but wander out. After a few days she ends up losing the trail, but upon returning to her home, she finds it razed and burning. Childhood memories of blood and fire cause bile to rise in her throat as she struggles to take in what she's seeing. As grief takes over, it quickly turns to hatred and a need for vengeance. She vows to hunt down the person who did this, becoming a bounty hunter for a short time. She quickly gains a reputation for being lethally efficient, some even viewing her as a hero as she doesn't hesitate to cut down more malicious dragons who get in her way. As she ignores her true calling her very being is split, pulled in two directions. One towards the future and healing, the other pulling towards the past and vengeance. She ignores her conscious, becoming a numb and hardened shell of her past being. Eventually, she hears whispers that the person she's been pursuing can be found in the arenas, and without hesitation she offers herself up as a gladiator in the most recent one her prey has been spotted. When. after a moon of fighting in the arena, she is faced up against him, the false pull within her knows immediately. Something in her roars to life, setting her fangs clenching as she glares cooly down at a pearlcatcher with infamously strong fire magic. The smell of smoke that circles him almost makes her gag, and when the fight begins, something in his gaze tells her that he's realized what's going on. He puts up a valiant fight, but even his fire is no use for her experience and sheer fury. When she looks back on this moment, she'll have wished she said something. Why? or maybe, Remember me?, but instead with a slip of claws she has him spilling out across the cold stone of the arena floor. The audience goes quiet, something about the mood turning tense and somber though they could never know truly. Wordlessly, she stoops and picks up her prey's pearl. Her stomach twists in revulsion as she thinks of looking into it, fearing that she'll see her memories from his eyes. Instead, she retreats back to her quarters in the arena with it. Long ago, she had told herself she would recover after this was done. But, with a sigh, she rests and prepares for the next day in the arena. Somewhere, pushed deep down, the pull to leave and search for her future still tugs at her. |
