Biography

DROST
The Harbinger of Doom

Clan Role: Seer...perhaps?
Mate: Gamariel
Pronouns: he/him
Bio: Drost was still in his egg when the mages performed a ceremony meant to tie him to the timestream and connect his life essence to the flow of time itself. Barely had he opened red eyes to peer around at the world after breaking out of his shell, but he was whisked off to another ceremony. Not even knowing his own name or what the sun was, Drost saw time and space laid out before him, a pool of stars, dazzling. He was forced to swim against the current, to try and find and change a great disaster.

Instead, disaster surged forward to meet him, and the mages foolish enough to think time was something mere mortals had any right trying to control. Drost, just born and already dying, looked around at the destruction that arrogance had wrought. He felt his heart swell with a feeling he would later recall as a deep sadness.

Drost survived, but the cost to himself was great. His scales are sharp but brittle, and break easily, meaning he is injured without much trouble. He has a weak constitution, and if he tries to do too much, he ends up out of breath, seeing spots, and coughing up blood in terrible fits. Drost is visited by visions of the future and the past, and he always sees horrible things in shocking clarity. Defeats, death, war, destruction. His belly is filled with sand, the scales there clear like glass and harder than all his others, and those who peer in might see something...horrible...

Despite the bad hand life has dealt him, and the fact that most see him as a horrible omen and avoid him, Drost refuses to give up, always tackling every new situation with resilient optimism. He's almost overly friendly to anyone who can stand to be around him, and if he foresees a disaster coming he always insists on warning those involved. Sometimes it makes a difference. Sometimes it does not. He travels with Gamariel, another dragon like him who is touched by time, and cursed for others using her as a tool to meddle in it. Drost is always trying to convince her to let go of her anger, because he can see how much it's clearly killing her, but she refuses. He does what he can to soothe her restless spirit.
