Biography

GAMARIEL
The Prophet of Hope

Clan Role: Seer...perhaps?
Mate: Drost
Pronouns: she/her
Bio: Gamariel was part of an ancient experiment intended to crack the secret to time travel--being able to change the past and then come back to the present. It was thought that, if a group of mages was able to take a young, hand-picked dragon and turn them into a vessel for the timestream, they could then use that dragon to view it and warp within it. The experiment was declared a solid failure after a catastrophe that devastated an entire temple in the Sunbeam Ruins. The mages were left with scars and backlash, but that wasn't the worst of it. The vessels of time were left with even worse consequences.

Gamariel was but a hatchling at the time, but she lost her sight, her agility, and most of her magic. Her claws shake and she can't control them; she had to start holding her pearl in a bag slung over her shoulder. She can't see what's right in front of her, and is instead plagued with visions of the future and the past, with little ability to tell which is which.

She sees mostly good things, not that it makes the visions easier to deal with. Triumphs, births, peace, invention. Her belly is full of swirling sand, and sometimes other dragons can get glimpses of things along the timestream by peering into it. The scales there are clear, like glass.

Gamariel is very angry at the world that forced her to be what she is. Bitter, she rarely shares her glowing visions. In her mind, it's her anger that's helped her survive as long she has, since she is the only one still alive who was used in the initial experiment. Sadly, the arrogance of dragons knows no bounds, and others have tried to copy the original with some new innovation bound to make it work. Only it never has.

Gamariel's only companion is another victim, like herself, who suffered through dragonkind's attempt to alter the past and control time. She knows there around mages out there still hunting the two of them, and always will be. She taught herself to fight with claws and teeth to make up for her lack of magic and vows to never let any take advantage of her again.
