Biography
He's a Lightning dragon--obvious in his name as much as his bright eyes--but his father was Shadow, and if Pulse learned anything at all in his youth, it was how to play games.
Sometimes they were nice games, kindly ones, which taught through practice and improved through repetition. Sometimes they were hard games, challenging ones, that lauded competition and winning over cooperation and group success.
Pulse found he liked the challenges. He didn't like hurting anyone to complete the challenges, though, so his favorite games were solitary ones where he was the only one he had to best. His mother tried to incline him to science, her own passion, but he only dabbled.
His father was cunning, though, and offered his son a game: become the best scientist of the clan. Pulse took up the challenge and tried his best... but failed. Frenzied with demoralization, Pulse compartmentalized all of his opponents' strengths and weaknesses and chose the one area in which they all, to a one, were weak.
Water.
None of his Lightning brethren were any good with water.
So Pulse left his clan and dove beneath the waves, completely determined to become the best aquatic scientist his birthclan had ever seen. He found a Water clan willing to host him for the duration of his work, and he set to his task with a flurry of effort...
The rest of the clan eyes him sidelong and wonders how crazy he must be to accept residence here to pursue his apparent passion.
