Umberlin was once from a clan of the Blacksand Annex before making it to Clan Wicked Wings as a hatchling. Having origins in the fiery parts of the world, many in his new clan were surprised when he expressed wanting to help out the Healer's Collective by collecting their supplies for them, but specifically the plants and herbs he knew were harder to get to.

While he hasn't told anyone in his new clan, where he came from, Healers were desperately needed and respected. For Umberlin to be able to help them out, it's one of the highest honors to him. Being a Snapper who genuinely cares about others' wellbeings, his ability to be able to journey far and wide for the prosperity of his new home is amazing to him.

This kind and eager personality of his is what attracted Vallen to him, and now the two are mates.
