Iayu is living, breathing proof that any dragon - male or female, big or small - can be both beautiful and tough as nails.

She comes from the realm of Fire, which she tends to refer to as "the Firelands", and definitely didn't miss her true calling. Though she is utterly lacking in the common hot-headed tempers of Fire dragons, she is still an insatiable pyromaniac. She loves heat, smoke, and fire itself.

It may come as a shock to find such a dragon living in a land surrounded by water. After all, water tends to snuff out fires...but maybe that's the trick to taming her inner beast. (Who knows?) Whatever the case may be, she left her homeland not out of necessity but out of choice. (Even more shocking, right?)

One day when she was out gathering lava rocks for her forge, she came across a stunning warrior dragon. He reminded her of herself but - dare she say it - prettier. She was immediately drawn to the Earthen warrior and the two struck a match instantly. It was only after some time spent chatting cozily that she learned he was from Seiyssrial Spire, an island out in the vast sea. By then, however, the damage was done. She was nose over tail in love and decided she would rather give up her volcanic home than spend the rest of her years broken-hearted.

Iayu returned to Seiyssrial with Aleoraac, not learning until later that he was one of the founders and most esteemed leaders of the clan. Her pride blossomed as she realized she'd made the right choice. She continues to admire Aleoraac for his many strengths, knowing that their offspring will grow up filled with burning passion (from her) and the heart of a guardian (from him).

Today, Iayu is employed by Blunderblast Industries as a smelter. This job was a perfect fit for her, allowing her to continue to embrace the fire that burns within her. She works with a variety of ores to aid in the creation of various metal contraptions...and anything else that requires a touch of heat. She's a big fan of explosives, much to Sid's dismay, and often leaves 'surprises' for him to find around the office. Most of those surprises, of course, tend to blow up in his face.

She's also keenly aware of her beauty (who can't help but admire her shimmering hide?) yet manages to be mostly modest about it. She takes pride in cleaning up and donning silky gowns when she's not at work and will never turn down a good party. However, she's also not at all afraid to get dirty - which is a good thing since she often ends her work day covered in soot. It is this balance of ruggedness and elegance that her mate finds so fascinating.
