Keres is Larissa's right hand dragon and is seen as the advisor of the Bloodsworn Clan. But despite this, no one else in the Clan but Larissa has heard her speak. A few have managed to see her face, though even those sightings are incredibly rare. One thing is for certain, however, and that is the fact that Larissa and Keres are close friends. As Larissa is terribly injured after their attempt to take over the Southwind territory, Keres is dedicating all her time right now to caring for Larissa's wounds. Some in the Bloodsworn Clan had expected for Keres to step in as second-in-command, but she keeps her silence and treats Larissa while the Skydancer continues to give orders despite her severe condition. While she has always been standing in the background (as much as she can, considering her size) and let Larissa handle all combat, as that is what she wants, the Ridgeback still packs quite a punch and can infect her claws to where injuries caused by her will quickly become infected. Since she doesn't want to appear stronger than Larissa, this is something she keeps hidden and will only use if she must. The only reason she didn't use it in the battle against the Southwind was the fact that she was so focused on getting Larissa away after she had been fatally injured. But should she use her skills and power.. she may be able to take down the leader of the Southwind Clan.

Keres doesn't actually know where she's from, who her family is.. There's nothing. She didn't even have a name for a long time. From the moment she hatched, all alone in a small pocket of the diseased earth, she fought for survival. Since she was born alone into the world, she was fearful of other dragons for a long time. She hid away every time a group of dragons happened to travel past her current location. While she didn't understand it at the time, the conversations of the traveling dragons became her first encounter with the language Draconian. She began to repeat some of the words and noises she had from the traveling dragons once she was alone once again.

But her first proper encounter with another dragon came later. She had taken shelter in a hole near a pond of water, when she heard that someone had found the pond as well and was drinking. Fearing that this intruder would be out to hurt her as well as taking her water away, she burst out of the shelter and screeched, wings held out wide to appear as big as possible. The "intruder" appeared to be a small, red Skydancer hatchling that had fallen over and looked up at her in fear. The Skydancer spoke, but she couldn't understand what was said. Yet the Ridgeback felt that she couldn't see this small hatchling as a threat. The little one was allowed to stay there.

When she left to continue her eternal journey, the Skydancer followed. Despite not being able to speak she still managed to learn that the Skydancer listened to the name "Larissa". Together they traveled through the Abiding Boneyard, while she showed Larissa how to survive in the unforgiving landscape. With some time she even began to learn more words and their meanings. But Larissa really wanted her to have a name. Thinking back to one of the times she had overheard other dragons talk, she decided to call herself by one of the names she had heard from them: Keres.

Keres and Larissa became inseparable as time progressed. And as they grew into adults, Larissa felt that there was more she wanted to do than just wander the Wasteland forever. She wanted to become a powerful Matriarch over her own Clan, where she will be in control and be making the decisions. A Clan where she would be loved and respected, not the Deities that her Clan had prioritised above her. She would be ruling over a beautiful area, leading dragons who loved and respected her, with Keres by her side!

Keres and Larissa have been close friends for a long time, and she may be only one that Larissa actually treats with kindness. It's difficult to say exactly what Keres is actually feeling about Larissa, but she has stood by her side since they met.
