Willenheist may run the clan in name but Hartwig is the one who really keeps everything running. Not only does he keep track of all the daily goings on but he is also in charge of managing their money, budget, and food reserves. He keeps written track of all their inventory and if something is amiss in the clan he's the one to give the order to fix it. Keeping track of all these things is a full time job for a tiny fae thus it leaves him feeling exhausted by the end of each day.

In his first clan Hartwig was a scribe's apprentice. Bookkeeping is his first love when it comes to work and if he had his way it would be all he does. Remembering and cataloging history is very important to him but he hardly has time for it with all his other duties. His dream and life's work is to catalog all of Willenheist's fantastic adventures at sea. He absolutely loves her stories which was what inspired him to follow her in the first place.

Hartwig is skilled in the art of healing magic. In the early days of their clan Hartwig, Willenheist, and Chappel were the only dragons fit enough to go out and fight to gather materials and food. Hartwig isn't a natural fighter but he worried for the safety of Willenheist and learned the healing arts for her sake. Now that they have many competent fighters hartwig scarcely uses his abilities because of how busy he is running the clan.

____Willenheists' loyal second in command. Hartwig came from a large clan of other faes and therefore knows a lot about structure and what it takes to run a successful clan. He's not nearly as brave or daring as Willenheist is but is perfectly satisfied looking over the order of the clan. He's calm and collected and a level-headed thinker. When he fights along side his willenheist he's taken up the role of being her healer.

When Hartwig was a little hatchling he discovered the escapades of the daring and fearless pirate, willenheist from a passing merchant in his clan of only fae. From the safety of his home lair he kept a careful record of her tales whenever he heard a new story. He kept them all in one large log book and would read them to the young hatchlings like bedtimes stories. He was totally enraptured by the idea of her and her brave adventurous life style, but he never felt the confidence to live such an existence. than one day heard tell that willenheist was retiring from pirating to start a clan of her own. without any hesitation hartwig jumped at the opportunity. He wasn't pirate material but he could run a clan. when he sought her out and offered she accepted readily. now even though hartwig does all the heavy lifting with clan management he doesn't mind because he gets to spend every day with his life long idol. Willenheist doesn't share the same passionate feelings about him, but still respects and depends on him and regards him fondly.

____His roles within the walls of the lair often fall into the line of book keeper. He manages all of their finances and keeps a record of all the goods the lair owns. He also keeps an up to date record of every dragon's job within the clan. willenheist will often guide people to him when there are dangers or problems within the clan. from there Hartwig will quickly find whoever is best suited to solve the problem. he's also fluent in speaking with emotion. He had to learn quickly with Willeheist around but it makes him the best negotiator when speaking to other clans

Willenheist is hartwig beloved leader and the subject of his record keeping project. He's infatuated by her even in her old age but is content just serving under her and recording her history. he considers himself her mate even though they aren't officially together and have other partners.

Clive is Hartwig's apprentice in training from they allied clan in the light lands. His job is supposed to be to help alleviate some of the burden that Hartwig has keeping the clan afloat but hartwig has been so busy its been impossible for him to actually train him, thus leaving him twiddling his thumbs most of the time and finding entertainment elsewhere.

Bonebraid works under Hartwig and took over one of his jobs. She manages their market dealings and has some control over the flow of money in the clan. Hartwig keeps a close eye on her to make sure she's not slipping back into her old ways of buying and selling illegal goods. Even with all their criminal connections Hartwig wants to keep the reputation of their clan clean when it comes to selling.

Ven is Willenheist's blood son and therefore Hartwig is very interested in him. He likes to consider himself as Ven's father figure but Ven rejects his efforts to make a connection between them. He still tries and is fond of them but thanks to Ven they have little relationship.
