The stars speak to those who listen– but one must know their language to hear them properly. Anisidora is one such dragon. Jaded on the superficial talents of astrological charlatans, she knows how to actually read the heavens. Her methods come from a combination of meteorology and magic, making her predictions flawlessly accurate. She’s more than familiar with divination, possessing knowledge on everything from tarot to tea and runes, but she would never report a prediction that isn’t rooted in cold, hard facts. Due to her ruthlessly logical nature, she can appear quite blunt at times. Despite her less-than-perfect persona, she has a multitude of customers. The truth of her predictions speak for her. Everyone knows that Anisidora’s prophecies always come true.

Most seers trust their ‘gut’ more than their actual talents. Anisidora scoffs at such pageantry. As a practitioner of the arcane tasked with deciphering the whispers of fate, it is her responsibility to maintain the utmost level of authenticity. Before she begins any sort of reading, she gives a spiel about how she does not use mere parlor tricks and illusions in her work, but is a dragon of science. “Omens come from the weather, it’s true– but how does the weather come to be?” she begins. “I must follow the patterns of the clouds– the atmospheric and barometric pressures. The wind velocity. The tides. All of this information combines to tell me what will come to pass.” She keeps daily records of weather patterns, analyzes the phases of the moon, studies the chemical makeup of every star, and even conducts some astronomical calculations alongside her astrological ones. She is a highly respected researcher in her own right. Dragons who spend most of their days in laboratories marvel at her extensive fieldwork. She is no ordinary fortune-teller. This Skydancer is a force to be reckoned with.

Anisidora was not hatched in Gestalt. She first came to the Spiral Keep from the Ashfall Waste - a long and arduous journey. In the Flamecaller’s domain, her skills were tragically overlooked. Her fiery kin did not wish to have their futures told. They preferred to live in the moment, ignoring the omens and signals that Anisidora would point out to them. She eventually realized that if she wanted her abilities to be appreciated– and if she wanted to live with dragons who would actually listen when she told them about what would come to pass– she would need to seek out a clan elsewhere. She traveled far and wide, reading fortunes on roadsides and in taverns. Just as she was about to give up hope and return to the Waste, the clan in the seaside cliff, Gestalt, was revealed to her. From the minute she read the stars for Purble, Coal (with Purble dragging him along, of course), and Rubus, she knew she was home. She saw a future of great potential with the group– a future where her premonitions were valued within, while she was also encouraged to travel afar and share her talents. Thus, she immediately asked if she could join the clan. What an unexpected gift for the clan– and for Anisidora, too.

These days, the seer spends most of her time predicting the hatch dates of baby dragons and ensuring the safety of her clanmates. Since the clan is susceptible to inclement weather due to its seaside location coupled with its underground construction, it’s very useful to have someone around who can keep an eye out for danger. Anisidora was also able to interpret the strange prophecies of the Tidelord which came bubbling out from the heart of the Spiral Keep. It’s a sign of her immense capability that she is able to understand the ramblings of the ocean king himself, though she wonders if she would still have the ability, should his messages ever return.
