» No one is quite sure whether Irid is a real dragon or not. Her fur is decorated with patterns of circuitry, but she moves in a fluid, confident manner uncharacteristic of a golem or robot. She speaks draconic just fine, though her voice is never heard above a raspy, grating whisper.

» Irid was brought back to the clan by Barney on one of her trips into the Coliseum with Osiris. Barney found her fascinating, and her skill with magic unmatched. She came with two golems in tow, that settled in as part of the clan as well.

» As the keeper of two ferocious golems, Irid's official job is keeping them in check and monitoring their activities in the workshop. However, this doesn't keep her too busy, since the two are autonomous, and only check in with her when repairs are needed. Thus, she lives on the Fungal Farms as Barney's bodyguard--a position that is a relic of the clan's earlier, wilder years when a bodyguard for the clan leader and his family was necessary.

» None of Irid's relationships can truly be called "friendships" by the standard definition of the word, but she spends most of her time with Barney and Osiris. She is most often seen trailing behind them on battle expeditions.
